Welcome to the New Idaho Writers Guild Site!

Hey all, and welcome to the new Idaho Writers Guild website. There have been a lot of changes going on, designed to bring us into this century. As with any major change, we expect some bugs, and we plan to be available to answer your questions and walk you through any issues.

First, you’ll notice a redesign and hopefully a much easier process to join the writer’s guild. We want this process to be simple and as friction-free as possible. Signing up for events will no longer require you to go to Eventbrite (soon, a note on that in a moment).
We’re going to make it as easy as possible to share events on social media, and we’ll try our best to integrate that into our site.
Your Member Profile
Your member profile will be more robust too. You can add a photo, and your website and email information. Don’t want to share? You don’t have to. In fact, at least for a little bit, the member roster will be hidden, and when it does go live, will only be visible to other Guild members, and only if you elect to allow your information to be listed.

But that isn’t all. When we get rolling, there will be some more member benefits including forums and member groups online. No longer do you have to go to the Faceberg if you don’t want to, or the newly minted Tesla version of Twitter (soon to be battery powered) to gather with your fellow writers!
What’s in store for the future?
This is a good question. We’ll be talking a lot about this after the conference this year, but the Idaho Writers Guild is committed to moving forward and finding new ways we can help writers and our community. The most important thing is that we want to hear from you.
What ideas do you have? What would you like the Idaho Writers Guild to do more of? Less? What changes would you like to see?
Without you, our members and those who may want to join us, we would not be an organization. Feel free to reach out with ideas to info [at] idahowritersguild.org. And if you have tech questions or comments about the site, email support [at] idahowritersguild.org and we will get back to you.
